What Inkwell Is

An AI-native writing platform. Plot, its screenwriting product, treats screenplays as structured data — and everything follows from that insight.

The brand reflects this: modern, technical, and considered — but always in service of the creative act. The interface never fights the writing.

Visual Design Pillars

Three principles shared across every preset — the hue changes, but these hold.

Tinted Neutrals

No pure greys anywhere. Every neutral carries a trace of the preset's hue — subtle but unmistakable across a full interface.

Depth Through Layering

Surfaces gain lightness as they elevate. Cards float above backgrounds, popovers float above cards — shadows are soft and expansive.

Muted Refinement

Desaturated colours, faint borders, calibrated contrast. The interface whispers structure rather than shouting it.

Dark-First Design

Dark mode is the primary design context, not a variant. Light mode is derived. Creative tools — Figma, Linear, DaVinci, Ableton — are all dark-first. Inkwell follows.
